IDAHO STATESMAN ENDORSES BECKY YOUNG IDAHO
STATE LEGISLATURE DISTRICT 18 HOUSE SEAT B
Expect Young to be an Advocate for Public Education
and
Champion in the House GOP Caucus
October 24, 2008---The Campaign to elect Becky Young
is pleased to announce that Idaho Statesman has endorsed Becky Young
for the Idaho State Legislature House Seat B. The endorsement is
found in the Our View Endorsements District 18 section of the Opinion
page.
"Becky Young is a former president of the Boise School District's
Parent Community Advisory Council, a parental panel established
in 2003. As a result, Young is no stranger to the legislative process;
PCAC lobbied a few years ago for changes in a formula the state
uses to distribute federal education dollars.
We'd expect Young to be a strong advocate for public
education, pushing for goals, such as reduced class sizes that could
use champions in the House GOP Caucus." The Statesman Editorial
Board stated.
The Statesman further commented, "Becky Young's
opponent, King hasn't been very productive in two years in the Legislature,
however, and we're unconvinced we'd see much improvement in a second
term. Based on Young's upside, we give the nod to Young."
